A New Trend? Chalkboard Signage At Your Wedding!

I am in love with this new trend. Although it does not fit the theme of my vintage hollywood wedding - I love the casual and fun feel these signs give your guests. Imagine how much fun these would be. The best part? It's perfectly reusable!

The Knot has a great article you can check out for some fun ideas!

After drooling over photos of brides/grooms and guests with their cute photo props and beautiful signage - I decided to jump on the bandwagon. Just because I can't use the chalkboards doesn't mean I should deprive my fellow brides right?! So - Now available in my etsy shop is a variety of chalkboard related items. Door Hangers, Labels, Place Cards and more!

My tip to you: I love the look of regular chalk but it can be a bit messy. Chalk Ink Pens stay put and wipe off your board with a damp cloth.

Weight Loss Challenge!!!!

Alright Ladies (and ... the random Gentlemen)... It's time. As I sat on the couch this evening eating Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream I decided... I need to start my "Wedding Diet"! I have been full of excuses: holding off for the perfect weather, getting caught up on laundry, busy working, etc.

Bottom line is this: my dress will barely fit me when it comes in since I have gained some winter weight since I ordered it. I work from home with a free and flexible schedule. I have a gym membership AND a bike that I love to ride in the warmer months.

I don't have lofty goals ... well except for the fact that I'd like to have a rockin', chiseled, sculpted body that all of the guests envy! :)

So now - I start my plan. Whatever plan that may be. Please tell me Ladies - How did you jump start your diet/exercise routine? What works and doesn't work for you?

Bridesmaid Dress Nightmare!

Is it normal to spend more time and anxiety on your bridesmaids' dresses?! Throughout the wedding planning process I have had one HUGE problem. I get an idea of what I want and nothing, absolutely NOTHING, else will do.
Well, unfortunately, this has happened with the bridesmaid dresses. At first I wanted a blush pink dress... I could not find the right color. Then I decided to go with a silver dress... I could not find the right silhouette. And then I found it. The One. It was perfect! Irridecent taffeta in silver with a tint of light pink, peonies on the hip, beautiful fluffy feathers... It was, well, "it"!

I have a big thing about: 1) Not supporting China knockoffs and 2) Not buying a dress sight unseen online. So I set out to find as much about this dress as possible. Even a swatch would make me happy. The designer is Alyce Designs and I immediately contacted all of the shops in the Pittsburgh area to find this dress. No one had it. So I commissioned my bridesmaids to check it out for me since they all live in different parts of Ohio. No one had it. I called ALL Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Maryland Bridal Shops... I didn't care if I had to travel hours to see a swatch of this beautiful dress. Then my Maid of Honor calls and tells me... The dress has been discontinued - they no longer make the feathers OR the fabric. I was heartbroken.

I then recieve another phone call from my MOH... They may have enough fabric to make us these dresses and needs to know everyones sizes! Persistance has paid off!!!! My MOH let me know that there is a swatch of the fabric waiting for her to view at a shop down the road from her and she is almost positive Alyce Designs will make us these dresses!!!!

My stomach is in knots - I just hope that the fabric is the perfect color. I have vetoed over a hundred dresses because this one is STUCK in my head!

Anyone else have bridesmaid dress drama!?

Save The Dates are Out!

So by now my guests have all recieved their Save The Dates... I just hope I didn't forget anyone! I am SO luch to have found etsy seller photocouture2. Not only is she super talented but she was a JOY to work with!!! I plan on using her for a few other projects for my wedding.

Now, you may know, that I am having a "Vintage Hollywood" wedding complete with our reception at a vintage theatre which I will share with you at a later time.

I found Photocouture2's baby movie poster and knew I had to have it for my save the date!

I then went to VistaPrint and made note cards out of these! Our family and friends LOVED them! It was so much fun to work on this and I can't wait to work on more projects with Becca from Photocouture2 again!
